Tables for vertical mill casting are mostly supplied in segmented parts. Though some are occasionally available as a monobloc casting. A grinding table has to have outstanding wear resistance as it is subject to immense pressure when it receives the material grinding bed and submits to the pressure of the tires in the vertical mill working principle. Magotteaux offers a large choice of alloys, some of which contain ceramic grains (MMC – Metal Matrix Composite) including Expand One and Expand+. The MMC solution requires fewer stops for maintenance and thus offers a higher mill availability. They are used in the cement industry and for raw meal, coal, clinker and slag grinding and for coal pulverization in cement or power plants. An adapted solution is also available for vertical mills used in the mining industry.
